 Zoie is the dog behind PetWise Market. She’s affectionately called our pound puppy. Zoie, was rescued from the Idaho Humane Society in Boise, Idaho at the age of four months. She is now going on four-years-old.

I kind of think she was in a loving home before we picked her out, because she loved to play fetch, jumped up on the couch to sleep (even though she wasn’t supposed to), and she hated to be alone. I must have gotten her at her transition time, from puppy to adult, because I was surprised when I started finding little puppy teeth in the carpet, as I didn’t know dogs lost their teeth like people. Zoie, didn’t have any issues, but to this day I still remember the dogs and their faces; the ones I didn’t pick. I hope their fate was as lucky as Zoie’s.

She did have her growing pains though. Her chewing stage was notorious. CD’s, my orange tree, the  carpet, a couple pillows, and the trash all felt the wrath of a young dog. Luckily she did outgrow it, but she still occasionally gets into the trash.

But she’s a happy pup. Every day she goes for a jog and forces me to get up to do so. On the weekend she heads to the dog park to play in the pond with the other dogs and go after any tennis ball she can find. She usually ignores me, and recruits other dog owners to throw the ball for her.
