Wal-Mart pulls dog treats, ever-so quietly

bestro-chicken-jerky-701442 Retail behemouth, Wal-Mart started pulling Chicken Jerky Strips from Import-Pingyang Pet Product Co. and Chicken Jerky from Shanghai Bestro Trading from its shelves on July 26, after some pet owners complained it was making their pets sick.

So why are we just now learning about it? Wal-Mart claims they had to do testing first, and in the meantime, no recall was issued. Wal-Mart spokesperson, Deisha Galberth said, ?We are diligently testing this product.? This means you could still be feeding your dogs this treat and never know that the retail giant banned further sales all because no recall was ever made.

It’s clear products from China aren’t guaranteed to be safe nowadays, but it seems Wal-Mart has dropped the ball on keeping consumers and their pets safe. Read More from MSNBC.com
